Canterbury was lovely. The trip on the tunnel was quick - 35 min. We stayed in the car. It was fine, really. Very comfortable. In Canterbury we did a lot of walking and gawking, and I took my daughter to see the Canterbury Tales exhibit.
My favorite? The Miller's Tale. My daughter's favorite? The Pardoner's Tale.
I have to admit, I'd forgotten most of the stories!

I had to read Canterbury tales for school and hated it, I'm afraid. There was so much else I wanted to be reading. I so resented being forced to read things that were not in my interest, because I read constantly on my own.
Now that I'm an adult I should try this again and see what I think.
Another pretty place I want to go. :)
Charles - I think that's why I hated Dickens for so long. But the teacher who did the Canterbury Tales with us was terrific and made it fun and interesting. Not an easy task, I'm sure!
Gabriele, I thought of you while I was there - you would love it! No castles, but the cathedral was immense.
