Thanks giving

I just finished writing a poetic and touching post about Thanksgiving and giving thanks... and the blog program crashed and everything disappeared. So I am taking the part about thanking technology out, and starting over again.

I'm thankful for my friends and family, and for those who pop in to my blog to visit. I'm thankful for the small things in life - like the dog sleeping at my feet, the beautiful sunrise I see through the window, and the churchbells that ring at 8 a.m. and not 7 a.m. like in the next village over.
I'm thankful for my crit partners who help me out, for my neighbors who help me out, and for Scott who chats with my in the morning and doesn't mind that I'm still half asleep!
I'm thankful for the time I get to spend on this good earth...and in the evening I am thankful to be able to see the stars through the window and hear my hubby's snores - (a little less loud and I'd be really thankful)
I'm thankful for the chance I have family scattered across the globe so I can travel and visit.
Happy Thanksgiving to All! I hope you have big and small things to be thankful for -
Best wishes,
Sam

Yes. Thanksgiving is a great time to remember all these things we ought to be thankful for. (We in Canada had ours last month but still, I am thankful...not just that once a year...but always...)

I didn't realize Canada's Thanksgiving was earlier! Is it as commercial and turkey oriented as in the states?
I read an article in the NY Times about the firsst Thanksgivings - the author speculated (he is a historian but was only guessing here) that the pilgrims fasted and didn't eat the 'heathen' food, lol.

Thanks for posting Wayne!!
I always say I'm going to copy my post 'just in case' and I always forget - so it's my fault too.
So I suppose I better thank technology - at least it's given me lots of interesting new friends!

Lovely post, Sam. I write my posts in Word and save them there in a file. Of course, one thing I’ve learned from working with MSWord is to save, save, save as I go along. Then I just copy them to Blogger. Nothing is worse than spending long amounts of time creating something only to have it go phhhhhttt when the computer god decides to wreak havoc.

I learned the hard way (as in: Aaaaarrrggghhhhh!) to keep a master copy of my Blogger template, too, so that I don’t lose everything if I make a small change. Technology is such a wonderful thing.

UH OH--did you say crash? Mercury goes direct in the late evening of Dec. 3.!!!

Oh Dear - Is that bad (about Mercury I mean)
I am going to be driving a lot that day, so I hope it has nothing to do with car crashes. I'd rather lose my 'stoopid' computer, thank you.
LOL

Mercury going direct is a GOOD THING! The little computer/Word crashes and glitches with computers, cars, mail and communications starts smoothing out and life becomes a bit less complicated! Well, except for the CHRISTMAS RUSH!
